Megia Chou | Vice Principal |

Welcome to Purple Lotus School! My name is Megia and I am excited to be the vice principal at Purple Lotus School.

I was born and raised in the bay area and attended Purple Lotus School in 1997 – the same year the school was established. Upon graduating, I moved to southern California and studied at UC San Diego where I received a B.A. in International Studies – Economics. In college, I served as co-chair for Africa Aid, an organization whose mission was to build innovative poverty-alleviation programs to empower African countries. At the same time, I started to intern with several event production and wedding planning companies. I had found my calling!

I was extremely passionate in making things happen – from social events to charity events, galas to street fairs, I did them all – and I loved every moment. For over 7 years, I have coordinated events large and small, simple to extravagant—and the biggest reward was seeing plans come to fruition—bringing ideas to life. Unlike most events which usually only last a day or two, Purple Lotus School’s academic calendar is but an extension of many mini-events all year long!

It is with great excitement that I am able to serve the Purple Lotus community in my role as vice principal. As a product of Purple Lotus School from 6th grade to 12th grade, it is an honor to work for and give back to the school that provided me with not only an excellent academic education, but also spiritual and moral growth and development.

In my free time, I enjoy dancing, cooking, and playing with my two pups, Sadie and Captain.

2014-2015 offers to be a year of fresh ideas and positive change. As your vice principal, I look forward to getting to know and working with all students and members of the Purple Lotus community.
